Diplomacy scenario
Maybe you saw docens of "Diplo" suggestions Fizzer but why not check one?
Some simple diplomacy settings.
Diplomacy mode: unlock Declare button and Diplomacy button
Declare button:
declare War, Truce, or Alliance
- declare War for unlock attack possibility against one with optional 0-1-2 turns delay, declare war is public in chat and Diplomacy tab
- declare Truce for end war status, declare truce is private in pm, if the opponent accept the truce is public in chat and Diplomacy tab, if the opponent refuse war status remain in public
- declare Alliance to create teams, alliance is public in chat and Diplomacy tab, allies cant attack eachother but can transfer as in team games, brake alliance button for end alliance status with optional 0-1-2 turns delay, (brake alliance cause neutral status not hostile, for that need to use declare war then
Diplomacy button:
A public diplomatic relations table, a simple and transparent table about diplomatic relations (neutral, hostile, allied) between the players
What do you think about something like this?
I’m pleased to announce that peace treaties / diplomacy games can now be played using the new mod framework!
Check out the mod “Advanced Diplo v2”, which has a war/peace/allies system, and a lot of other neat features that work with this!

I agree that there should be a declare button, but merely as a formality, not actually doing anything other than making sure everyone knows what's going on (maybe a pop-up or something).
No need for truce, other than perhaps the flip side of a declare.
The alliance system could actually be useful though, more or less exactly as described.
The chat essentially is the Diplomacy.

I still feel, as I have voiced many times on the forums, that this kind of feature only cheapens Diplomacy games, makes them far less interesting. It's a waste of time for developers to focus on a game setting which is highly complex AND makes the game effectively worse.
