  1. The release card - allows new players to join mid-game

    The release card would allow a player to use any quantity of their own territories to invite a new specific player, an open seat or an AI mid-game. The card would “unplay” itself if the open seat or the specific player doesn’t accept by the time the boot timer is passed. This would be great for the diplo community. The player limit will of course still be held.

    Hi all,

    We would certainly like WarLight to run on all phones. However, making an app for a phone is a huge amount of work (the iOS and Android version took over 2 years). We have to weigh the amount of work against the benefit, and right now it’s not sufficient to warrant devoting so much time to the Windows Phone.

    We will keep this item open and continue to re-evaluate in the future to see if the landscape changes. Thanks for the suggestion.

  3. Teammate takes over for booted/surrendered player

    The booted/surrendered players army will not being combined into teammate's army, but will be controlled separately by the teammate. Player will have to execute moves for two armies in the allowed time.

    Teammates leaving a game is certainly frustrating. Allowing another teammate to enter orders for them is definitely a possible way to address that problem.

    We could use some feedback on the following potential issues with this feature:

    1. In teams of more than 2 players, who gets control of a player that’s left? Just first to click the button, or assign a team captain or something?
    2. Could this slow down real time games? Imagine if one person has to enter orders for 3 teammates that have left plus themselves.
    3. Would this encourage someone to boot their teammates, just to take control over them?
    4. It needs to be very clear who is playing who for every turn. If someone that’s under control starts sabotaging their team, like gifting stuff to an enemy or attacking teammates, it needs to be clear it isn’t really them and you shouldn’t necessarily…

  4. Add a "friends list" subset to the invite list

    After playing many games here, the invite list gets cumbersome. It would be nice to have a smaller list for people I really enjoyed playing with.

  5. Overhall of Clan System

    Make clans more fun!

    1. Allow name changes.
    2. Have clan levels. Based on the same things as normal levels, but maybe times them by ten or something? Make it one coin for level one, 1+2 coins to level two (and so on) for the founder, and some other kind of reward for the average member.
    3. Allow splits of manager rights:

    FOUNDER LEVEL

    For the founder only, cannot be booted. Can do everything that current people can do, and cannot be booted ever, by anyone.

    STANDARD LEVEL

    Same as current manager rights.

    RECRUITMENT LEVEL

    Can only recruit and change tags.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Clan manager tiers is certainly something we’d like to add some day, but it’s not on our immediate roadmap.

    Clan name changes will probably never be allowed, as the clan’s name is its identity and changing the name is akin to making a new clan entirely.

  6. Vacations by number of days instead of number of vacations

    In the current system, a maximum of 5 vacations are allowed; whilst this is, of course, better than none - it DOES lead to unfairness and difficulties.

    For example, under the current system one person could get 50 days of vacation (using the maximum) whereas another (using the minimum lengths) could only get 5. Furthermore, if someone is away often for say, 3 days, they are at a disadvantage compared to someone who is away rarely but for a while.

    So, I propose the following: instead of a maximum NUMBER of vacations, I propose a cap on the number of…

    I agree this is a good idea. However, it’s a very low priority feature compared to many others on this forum, and it’s unlikely to happen in the near future.

  7. Randomize Teams in a Tournament

    With a group of friends who play tournaments among themselves, it would be great to allow everyone to join the tournament and then randomly put everyone into teams.

    Add the following functions:

    Renaming mail
    Adding/removing users from a mail chain
    Deleting mail from your inbox
    Searching mail
    Sorting mail (promoting/starring/etc)

  9. "Clan Tab" in the "Select Players" and "Add or Remove Players" menus

    To create internal clan games, it would be easier if you could directly invite your clan members in the invitation menus.

    If you're in a bigger clan and you don't want to add all 100 members to your friends list, you have to invite every single players laboriously by using the "search" tab. A new invitation tab which shows only your clan members, similar to the friends tab, but maybe with filter options like "rank" or "level" would be the ideal solution.

  10. New Sort Option under My Games: remaining time until boot

    Instead of sorting by "How long it's been my turn" (btw, that sort order is wrong too, longest times should appear first not last in list) I'd like to be able to sort by the remaining time until I might get booted. Say I have a 2day, 3day and 5day game and all are due since 47hours, the 2day game would appear first on the list, because it is more urgent to play than the 5day game.

  11. Add option to make games that don't auto-start

    The host can define a game that doesn't start until the host clicks the "start" button.

    This feature already exists when playing the Flash version of Warzone, but the Unity app does not have this feature. This idea will add this feature to the Unity app just like the old Flash app had.

  13. Make Attack Only option available on the 3v3 Ladder

    There's no reason not to have the option to use it in 3v3 Ladder games. Maybe Fizzer just forgot to add it when he made the template?

  14. MAPS: Raise the svg limit to 4mb or allow for a selected few to break the limit with your consent

    I do not make this request lightly, I thought over it for long and gather experiences from mappers to corroborate it.

    The point is this: we have other limits for the maps - 1000 bonuses, 4000 territories and 3500x2500 px as max size. We strive for them, although the best maps are no doubt smaller, considering the average WZ player plays competitive games.

    Despite this, those few of us who want to make big maps, beautiful, rich in variety and content, are usually choked by the 3mb limit, not because of excess - online communities have perfected numerous ways of…

  15. Vote to End = sharing of points

    I hate it when i play really well with an ally with great teamwork, and then when it comes to the end of the game, someone has to awkwardly decide to surrender and lose all the points. It will be much better if we can split the points.

    This also applies to when someone ruins the game by being booted. In this system of sharing the points, each player gets a very small amount of points from the player leaving (since he's not there to claim it), which makes up for it.

  16. Internationalization

    Currently, WarLight is available only in English. I think this may be a barrier for some people who either don't know English or isn't their mother tongue. Therefore I suggest to create some kind of internationalization (that is, game translated to different languages).

  17. Allow game creators to define their own distributions

    Currently, game creators can define Custom Scenarios to specify how the game starts territory-by-territory. While this gives the ultimate flexibility, sometimes it's useful to actually define regions of the map where players should start and let the normal WarLight randomizer distribute wastelands and players randomly for each game.

    Currently, map creators can do this by defining distributions for their map. This item would bring that power into the game creator's hands by letting them define a custom distribution for their game.

  18. Quick Match - QM should not be limited to 40 templates

    QM is how many warzone players discover strategic game play. And learning new maps and templates adds to that enjoyment.

    Many great maps and templates don't currently exist in QM. This includes templates on the MTL ladder and recent seasonal ladder selections.

    So, why not expand QM well beyond just 40 templates? And perhaps hard-wire in all the MTL templates?

    Anyone who is satisfied with current choices can veto new templates.
    So this is really just upside for those wishing for more RT options.

  19. Auto refresh for the My Games page

    Have an auto refresh in the game lounge similar to the auto refresh when you're in a game. Maybe have a setting where you can disable and/or change the amount of time between refreshing.

  20. "Commit" confirmation (Unity on phones and tablets)

    in Unity on small devices like tablets and phones, it's very easy to misclick "attack/transfer" button with the "Commit" one.

    A confirmation box - "Commit" and "Back to Orders" would be very very appreciated.
