Tournament Upgrades
Just a vast improvement of the tournament system. Examples of possible improvements are: booting players in games where both people quit the site, being able to sort the invite list when inviting players, being able to invite over the amount of spots in the tourney, standings in Round Robin, being able to invite to specific teams, having tournaments with open seats, etc.
7 votesThe tournament system was just upgraded! Check out the announcement here: https://www.warlight.net/blog/index.php/2015/03/update-3-7-coin-tournaments/

Save single player games
This would allow you to save the progress of a single player game and resume it later.
This would be done as an auto-save after each turn. This is important since you don't want players to be able to load previous saves and try something new, as that would ruin the integrity of existing wins (i.e. you could change your orders based on what the AI did, or based on what you discovered behind the fog)
303 votesI’m pleased to announce that single-player games can now be saved and resumed!

Additional Real World Maps
More real world maps warlight made maps available.
160 votesWarLight now has over 100 real-world maps, which is a lot more than it had when this item was created. So I’m marking this as complete. If there’s a specific map you’d like to see, creating maps is easier than ever! See this link for instructions: http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Map_Making

Peace Treaties
This setting will allow warlite to enforce peace treaties. Peace treaties can either be set for a certain amount of turns or be broken after giving notice. A treaty will be the equivalent of a diplomacy card. If both players acquiesce, it can be canceled early (example: one guy accidentally has 1 spot in the other guys bonus so they cancel peace he takes spot and then they remake peace). There will also be a setting that makes peace treaties public or not, depending on the creators settings. The idea of peace treaties is two-fold, one it forces people not…
1,109 votesHey all,
I’m pleased to announce that peace treaties / diplomacy games can now be played using the new mod framework!
Check out the mod “Advanced Diplo v2”, which has a war/peace/allies system, and a lot of other neat features that work with this!

Open seat prerequisites
Game creators can set requirements that players must meet to join an Open Seat in their game.
Something which would allow you to specify variables like:
* Minimum no. of completed games
* Minimum days since registration
* Minimum win %
* Maximum boot % (so that if a player has been booted from 10% of the battles played, he's not allowed to join the battle)Just a few rules like this, as I'm a multi day player... it's quite annoying when you create a 2-3 day turn pace battle with 12v12, and after the first 0-5 turns 1-5 ppl…
260 votesI’m pleased to announce that this is now available! On the Customize Settings step of creating a game, you’ll notice a new tab named “Open Seats.” Select this, and you can set prerequisites that players must meet to join open seats in your game.

ICBM Card and Bomb Card
Play this card on a territory to kill half of the armies there. Bombs can hit adjacent territories, ICBMs can hit any territory on the map. Playing a second card would kill half of the remaining armies.
26 votesWarzone now has a bomb card! See https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Bomb_Card for details.

Kill the "Never boot" option and set a maximum boot time
It's useless; if you want a nice slow game with friends, you can as well set 1 minute boot time (they're your friends, right?), if you want nice slow game with random people, you actually need a way to move it forward if one of them stops responding.
This should be applied retroactively to all existing "Never" games.
16 votesThe “Never” boot time has been removed, and this has also been retroactively applied to all existing games.

Highlight Non-Standard Game Settings
Very simple: non-standard game settings should be highlighted (in red, perhaps) in the Game Settings window. Most hosts put something in the game title when they are using particularly unusual settings, but some don't and I've definitely been in several games that I would never have joined if I'd noticed the settings. This would make it essentially impossible to make this common mistake.
181 votesWarLight now highlights non-standard game settings!
What’s even better, is that players can configure how the game determines which settings are highlighted or not. This allows everyone to set their own preferences on what’s considered standard and non-standard.
See this blog post for more details: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2012/07/site-update-1-14-0-highlight-game-settings/

Leagues/Clans
**Many people have brought up the issue of a ranking system and ladder. This concept would be amazing because, in addition to driving people to better, it would reduce the issue of mismatched opponents.
http://warlight.uservoice.com/forums/77051-warlight-features/suggestions/1067501-ladder?ref=title
**Another topic discussed has been preformed teams. I happen to think this is a much needed system, one that would greatly improve the site. I often want to play with my friends on the same team but this is hard to accomplish. A set-teams function would make this much easier. Preformed teams would also lead to another reality- clans. The best players on the site…
125 votesWarLight now supports clans!! Check out the announcement here: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2013/09/website-update-2-2-clans/

Ability to report players who verbally attack players
There was a player, named Who Am I, who exploded on the public chat during a match because both his teammates were new to the map and style of play. He said things that were racist and morally offensive, and I want to know where one can go to report such unacceptable behavior
3 votesYou can report players by clicking the “Report” button either in-game after clicking their name, or via a link at the bottom of their profile.

AI replaces booted players. Game is over when AI is the only opponent.
Allow game creators to optionally specify that when a player gets booted he's territories are taken over by AI.
I think ONLY booted player should be changed by AI (not surrendered).
In case if all you opponents are AI - the game is finished and you win.
EXAMPLES
Team A (3 players) vs Team B (3 players) - 1 player from B is booted, the games is between 3 v 2+1AI and continuous.Game 1 vs 1 - booting means 1 v 1AI = end of game.
Game 2 v 2 - booting means 2 v 1+1AI. When second player…
112 votesYou can do this now! Two checkboxes exist when creating a game:
“Players turn into AI controlled players when booted”
and
“AIs surrender when only one human remains”
By making the AIs surrender instead of just ending the game, the remaining human can choose if they want to accept those surrenders or have fun slaughtering the AI.

Increased player limit
The idea would be to increase the maximum number of players past 24. In order to do this we would have to add more colors. To solve this I suggest we let each player choose 2 colors(possibly the same) and give all of their territories a striped pattern alternating between these two colors. With the current colors this would give use hundreds of possible combinations.
6 votesWarLight now has increased the player limit from 24 to 40 players!
-
Vacation Status
This would be a temporary status granted to your account that would give you a certain number of days per year to allocate to 'vacation' days. When activated, your account would be unable to be booted from games. This helps those who take vacations with limited internet access, but wish to continue with all their games without being booted.
12 votesWarLight now allows you to put yourself on vacation! See the blog for full details: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2011/07/announcing-warlight-1-5/

Easier access to the "Analyze" panel
It would be handy to be able to open the Analyze calculator from any context. If my orders have been committed, I currently have to uncommit my orders, get into attack/transfer mode, and create a bogus attack in order to bring up the analyzer.
3 votesThere’s now a button on the main game screen that lets you access the Analyze Attack tool at any time!

For team games, graph team performance
Under Graphs, have an option to select Team A, Team B, etc, in addition to separate players
11 votesThis has been completed in the new Unity client!

Relative Speed time
To search for fast opponents what often matters more is not the actual speed time but a relative speed time, compared to the boot time (It is a big difference if you need 8 hours in a 5min boot game or in a 3days boot game) or to the speed time of the other players in the game (e.g. sometimes you talk with your team-mates about a strategy or with enemies about a peace treaty)
2 votesThis is now possible.

"Off-topic" forum
The point is to be able to post threads about subjects unrelated to Warlight without cluttering up the General forum.
3 votesWarLight now has an off-topic forum!

Personalized templates
This would allow you to save your game settings, so you can create games using your own template without re-entering the settings.
367 votesI’m pleased to announce that personalized templates are now available!
Whenever you create a customized game, WarLight will ask you if you’d like to save your game settings as a template. You can then use that template to easily create games with the same or similar settings.

Pruning inactive accounts from invite list
It would be nice if there was a button that could automatically remove all inactive accounts from your invite list.
10 votesIt’s now possible to do this. Just visit the Manage Invite List page and click Bulk Remove.
