submit
I'd like to see a way to save my orders without submitting them.
There are several use-cases:
I may want to plan most of my moves, but wait for negotiations to finish before I finalize.
I want to share my plans with teammates, but not finalize until we finish discussing strategy.
On very large maps, I may have hundreds of orders and not have time to plan them all in a single sitting.
Sometimes I'll click on Modify Orders to tweak something, then forget to re-submit, thus losing all my hard work.9 votesGames are always automatically saved into your cache.

2v2 Coin Matches
Coin matches should have more diversity in the available game types - even if only as a custom coin match, 2v2 should be an option. In general, coin matches need much better support for team play.
9 votesTeam coin games can now be played! Create it through Quickmatch or through the Coins page.

On the tournaments list, show my current status for each tournament
When visiting the tournaments page, I see a list of tournaments that I've joined, but can't easily tell which tournaments I've been eliminated in, how many games I have left (for round robin), or my progress. I have to visit each tournament individually for that information, which is sometimes a hassle. On the tournaments list, I'd like an additional line of information that indicates my status in each tournament.
Single/Double Elimination Status Examples:
Awaiting Next Game (5-0)
Eliminated (3-1)
Game In Progress (3-1)
2nd Place (5-1)Round Robin Examples:
2 Games In Progress (4-2, 2 Pending)
0 Games In Progress…9 votesWarzone now shows you tournaments you’re active in! Thanks for the suggestion

Semi-automatic distribution mode
( Initially suggested in:
https://www.warzone.com/Forum/382505-feature-suggestion-semiautomatic-distribution )Motivation:
Semi-automatic distribution would maintain some attributes of auto-distribution, like creating more varied games and forcing players to adapt to sub-optimal starts, but at the same time allow them to have some control over their starts and give the ability to avoid truly terrible combinations, to some extent.Feature description:
1) for every player, the game randomly offers N candidate picks (configured in settings)
2) out of these N picks, the player selects M actual starts; if the player doesn't select enough, the game has to randomly pick the missing amount (same as insufficient…9 votesExists as mods Hybrid Distribution and Hybrid Distribution 2

Facebook integration
This would likely involve making it easier to invite friends from Facebook, the ability to log-in via Facebook, or making a version of WarLight that lives within the Facebook chrome.

Borders a different colour?
It's more of an inconvenience than anything, but what about making border colours slightly darker or brighter so that if I'm green and I take a green territory I can still see what areas are connected to where without clicking on each one.
8 votesThis is now complete! Territory borders now lighten themselves when the player controlling it has the same color as the border.

invite by username
Allow the invitation of players by username. I play with a big group of people and sometimes a new player is added to the group, but his email address is only known to 1 other person, but more people know his username.
8 votesWarLight now allows you to invite by username! Check out the blog for the announcement: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2012/09/site-update-1-15-improved-game-creation/

Random map
I think there should be an option in the map category for a random map. I have always wanted to play a game where the map was randomly selected. Please consider my request! - TWM
8 votesThis has been added in the new Quickmatch feature that came with the new Unity client.

"Save-but-not-commit" A way to share orders with your team without committing...
In team games, it is essential to share orders with each other, but this can be difficult as you must commit your moves for a teammate to view them. This can create quite a hassle of players committing and un-committing so they can show their orders to their team and likewise for the other players. This can result in turns progressing before they are meant too. An option to upload your orders to the sever but not complete the turn would solve this issue.
8 votesWarzone now shares your orders with your teammates in real time! See https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2019/02/update-4-13-speeding-up-real-time-games/

Change the wording on the Redo Orders dialogue
This is purely a copyediting complaint. I think the first sentence of this message should be replaced with "You may modify or re-do your orders." The "Re-do orders" button could also be changed to "Modify orders" and the affirmative button could read "Yes, modify my orders".
Currently, it reads "Yes, I made a mistake" which is not the case much of the time when players are really just choosing a different strategy or updating their moves to better coordinate with moves their teammates submitted later. "Re-do" suggests that the player is starting over, which is usually not the case.
This…
8 votesYou’re right — back in the day, this feature used to require you to completely re-enter all of your orders from scratch. Later it was improved to let you make small changes and re-commit, but the text was never updated to reflect that. I just updated the text to Modify Orders, and the confirmation message is now completely gone. Thanks for the suggestion!

In game currency
It would basically give players the option of buying armies with this money,or even trade it for say peace, armies,or some other land. The amount of money you get at the start of the game would be up to the creator of the map.
So for example:
If you we're playing on issander's huge world map, owning new york would give you 5gold per turn, while owning montenegro would give you 2gold.This idea isn't fully developved so if you have any suggestions or new ideas contact me on warlight my name is Vuk.8 votesI’m pleased to announce that this is now available! It’s called Commerce games, and it can be enabled by clicking “Change Army Settings” and checking “Commerce games”

Forum search options
I know this has been suggested in the forums and elsewhere many times. It would be real handy to be able to search the forums. Particularly to avoid double posts on bug reports and the like.

Tournament Upgrades
Just a vast improvement of the tournament system. Examples of possible improvements are: booting players in games where both people quit the site, being able to sort the invite list when inviting players, being able to invite over the amount of spots in the tourney, standings in Round Robin, being able to invite to specific teams, having tournaments with open seats, etc.
7 votesThe tournament system was just upgraded! Check out the announcement here: https://www.warlight.net/blog/index.php/2015/03/update-3-7-coin-tournaments/

Public API
This would allow software developers to extract information, send commands programatically, and all sorts of other fun stuff. Like AI battles.
7 votesWarLight has a rudimentary API that allows you to do some things. You can read about it here:
You can’t yet play games, but you can get game information.

Ability to transfer armies between players who are not on a team
In team games, you can choose to attack or transfer armies between you and your teammates' territories. In FFA games, where players may choose to forge or break alliances over the course of the game, it would be nice to have to option to transfer armies to your ally's territories. Or to demand that they transfer armies to your territories as tribute.
7 votesThe can be accomplished using the new mod framework! See the Gift Armies mod.
-
Clan Identification.
A way of identifying and making offical clan's. Perhaps through symbol tags? Colours? Flags?
7 votesClans are officially a thing! (many years ago)

Mobile Client Feature: Territory links in chat.
Just copying a feature over from the web version, the ability to add links to a territory in chat. Right now games on mid-larged sized maps are hard to coordinate since you have to say "can you attack the orange territory, to the west of blue.... under the branch with the pigeon on it"
7 votesThis has been completed in the new Unity client. Check it out!
