Peace Treaties
This setting will allow warlite to enforce peace treaties. Peace treaties can either be set for a certain amount of turns or be broken after giving notice. A treaty will be the equivalent of a diplomacy card. If both players acquiesce, it can be canceled early (example: one guy accidentally has 1 spot in the other guys bonus so they cancel peace he takes spot and then they remake peace). There will also be a setting that makes peace treaties public or not, depending on the creators settings. The idea of peace treaties is two-fold, one it forces people not…

I’m pleased to announce that peace treaties / diplomacy games can now be played using the new mod framework!
Check out the mod “Advanced Diplo v2”, which has a war/peace/allies system, and a lot of other neat features that work with this!

Able to see who is online
I never know who is online until they join my game. It would be nice to see who is online so you can invite them to a game right away instead of waiting for random people to join.
830 votesIt's now possible to see who is online when making a Warzone game! Thanks for the suggestion!

AI replaces booted/surrendered players
Allow game creators to optionally specify that when a player gets booted or surrenders, instead of changing their territories to neutral, an AI player takes over their territories for the remainder of the game.
423 votesYou can now do this! Just check the box during game creation that says “Players turn into AI controlled players when booted” or “Players turn into AI controlled players when surrendered.”
You can choose one or both of these.
-
Personalized templates
This would allow you to save your game settings, so you can create games using your own template without re-entering the settings.
367 votesI’m pleased to announce that personalized templates are now available!
Whenever you create a customized game, WarLight will ask you if you’d like to save your game settings as a template. You can then use that template to easily create games with the same or similar settings.

Global private messages
Allows you to send a private message to a player you're not in a game with.
342 votesIt’s now possible to send private messages to anybody, even if you’re not in a game with them!
This is called WarLight mail. There are two ways to send mail: You can visit a player’s profile page and click the Send Mail button. This starts a one-on-one mail thread that both players can reply to.
Alternatively, you can visit the new Community → Mail tab and click Compose New Mail. Then you can select up to 20 players that will all be able to post in the same mail thread. You can think of this like a private forum thread that only the players you select can read or write to.

Ladder
The WarLight ladder is a system that ranks players based on their true skill.
The current "Ranked Game" system is not a measure of true skill, since it's easy to artificially inflate your rankings simply by declining to play against stronger opponents.
The ladder overcomes this by preventing you from choosing which players you play against. Players who elect to play in the ladder will get games created for them automatically and then the results will be used to rank them.
The ladder rankings are displayed publicly on the website for all to see.
333 votesThe 1v1 ladder has arrived!
A 2v2 ladder will be coming in a later release.

Identify players by their country with a flag next to their name
Chess.com has a feature I would like to see added. Each player's name has next to it their country' flag. It makes it more interesting to see where our opponents and partners are located.
304 votesI’m pleased to announce that WarLight now shows country flags on player’s profiles! You can now tell what country your opponents are playing in.

Save single player games
This would allow you to save the progress of a single player game and resume it later.
This would be done as an auto-save after each turn. This is important since you don't want players to be able to load previous saves and try something new, as that would ruin the integrity of existing wins (i.e. you could change your orders based on what the AI did, or based on what you discovered behind the fog)
303 votesI’m pleased to announce that single-player games can now be saved and resumed!

Open seat prerequisites
Game creators can set requirements that players must meet to join an Open Seat in their game.
Something which would allow you to specify variables like:
* Minimum no. of completed games
* Minimum days since registration
* Minimum win %
* Maximum boot % (so that if a player has been booted from 10% of the battles played, he's not allowed to join the battle)Just a few rules like this, as I'm a multi day player... it's quite annoying when you create a 2-3 day turn pace battle with 12v12, and after the first 0-5 turns 1-5 ppl…
260 votesI’m pleased to announce that this is now available! On the Customize Settings step of creating a game, you’ll notice a new tab named “Open Seats.” Select this, and you can set prerequisites that players must meet to join open seats in your game.

Ability to make and save notes on player.
This would allow the user to make notes on another player's profile (only visible to the person who made the note).
Some benefits:
- you can notate players who have betrayed your truces
- notate players who have been vulgar
- notate a player's strategy251 votesIt’s now possible to create and save notes on players!
Simply visit someone’s profile and click the new “Private Notes” button. These will be stored and kept only for you – other players will never be able to see them.
You can return later to view or edit the notes you wrote previously.

Deployment Limits: a Tactical Option (esp. for Multi-Attack Games)
This is a simple idea which makes games really interesting, and it has the bonus of being (probably) incredibly easy to implement.
It's simple: a deployment limit states that, on any given turn, no player may issue a Deploy order of more than X armies. (I like 10 armies, myself, so if it can't be adjustable, 10 would work well.)
In other words, you cannot deploy more than X armies to any given territory on any given turn.
This makes Multi-Attack games a lot more fun, and feels, in practice, very much like Local Deployment, except that you don't have…
232 votesHey all,
I’m pleased to announce that deployment limits can now be played using the new mod framework!

Achievements
Achievements are awards that get unlocked as you play the game. Your profile can show which achievements you have unlocked.
For example:
- Complete the Insane challenge level.
- Complete Level 3 in 20 turns or less.
- Win a multi-player game with more than 20 opponents.
- Make a stack of over 1000 armies.
etc..219 votesWarLight now has achievements! See the announcement here: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2013/07/coming-soon-achievements-and-trophies/

Multi-attack card
Same as in multi-attack enabled game - the difference is with this card you can make only ONE multi-attack.This card could simulate Blitzkrieg: almost all of my armies (infantry) move with steady pace (1 territory/turn) but from time to time I can use my tanks to attack with the speed of 1,2,3 territories/turn; depending on how many multi-attack cards I have saved.
196 votesHey all,
I’m pleased to announce that this can now be implemented using the new mod framework!
Check out the “Limited multi-attack” mod.

50 Player Games/ 50 Starting Colours
The idea is pretty obvious :)
Let us use the full 50 colours as our main colour, because I know several people want to use "charcoal" (black) as their starting colour, but that is only possible right now in 50 player games..
Second Point. At Level 55, let us make 45 player games, and at level 56 (same level as all the maps unlocked) you get to make 50 player games. So we can make 50 or even 60 player games some time in the future (on Issander's Huge World for example, a 60 player wouldn't be too overcrowded).
196 votesI'm pleased to announce this is now possible! See https://www.warzone.com/blog/index.php/2022/02/update-5-18-100-player-games/

Open Tournaments
Much like the "Open Seats" system, but for tournaments. This would allow tournament creators to declare their tournaments "open" which would allow any WarLight player to join it, even if they were not invited.
183 votesI’m pleased to announce that Open Tournaments are now available!
When creating a tournament, you can mark it as “open” which allows anybody to join without being invited.
To join open tournaments, head to the Tournaments tab and click Open Tournaments.

Highlight Non-Standard Game Settings
Very simple: non-standard game settings should be highlighted (in red, perhaps) in the Game Settings window. Most hosts put something in the game title when they are using particularly unusual settings, but some don't and I've definitely been in several games that I would never have joined if I'd noticed the settings. This would make it essentially impossible to make this common mistake.
181 votesWarLight now highlights non-standard game settings!
What’s even better, is that players can configure how the game determines which settings are highlighted or not. This allows everyone to set their own preferences on what’s considered standard and non-standard.
See this blog post for more details: http://blog.warlight.net/index.php/2012/07/site-update-1-14-0-highlight-game-settings/
