In game currency
It would basically give players the option of buying armies with this money,or even trade it for say peace, armies,or some other land. The amount of money you get at the start of the game would be up to the creator of the map.
So for example:
If you we're playing on issander's huge world map, owning new york would give you 5gold per turn, while owning montenegro would give you 2gold.This idea isn't fully developved so if you have any suggestions or new ideas contact me on warlight my name is Vuk.
I’m pleased to announce that this is now available! It’s called Commerce games, and it can be enabled by clicking “Change Army Settings” and checking “Commerce games”

If you're going to change mechanics, there are a million ways to make warlight a deeper, but ultimately a different game. Think different resources, buildings, social unrest where after a while you have to reinforce your territories or a new player could take over, essentially a hurdle on the snowball effect of winning.
I think the simplicity of a RISK-like game should be kept though. I don't think the game creator would want to code the game into something completely different. So far my criticism. What I like about this proposal is that it actually doesn't have to change warlight a lot. Imagine if instead of money, you still have armies (as is already the case) BUT they would work a bit more like currency.
The game creator could tick an option 'army trading'. It would cause the following changes:
-armies don't all have to be deployed. You can save them until the next turn.
-armies can be donated to other players. This could be very for diplomacy games, vassals, team play, trading, piramid schemes, etc. Diplomacy players have asked for more gameplay options for a while now and this could help.So no to grand new features that are difficult to implement, yes to new options from which new types of gameplay could emerge.

Yea,also the number of armies you get would certanly not be dictating the amount of currency, because the basic thing that i would like to see is some change in gameplay,Overall i think it should be optional at first, just so that not all people would have to experience it,and there are people who would even oppose it.I'm thinking it would be much more used in diplo games, seeing as 'wealth' is one thing we can ony role-play about in diplos.

Very interesting Idea as BielekPL said. I do think creating an economy of sorts would make things alot more interesting.
I would personally love to have to fight and focus on building my country/town/village/lands' etc. economy just as much as expanding. Talk about a new edge to strategy & role play.
However. I do think it should be an optional setting so one is able to pick between the 2 warlight styles. This way nothing is affected and there's no need for a total overhaul!
Amazing Idea ;-)

Very intresting thing, but it'll totally change Warlight's gameplay. I think it should be an option that can be turned on at some lvl when creating map, like making custom scenarios now. I vote for it.
