It would be nice to have the ability to join a tournament or game as a team. It would also allow for team statistics. I often like to play on the same team as my friends but we often run into the problem of other people joining our team.

how about you just join a tournament without choosing a team (who cares which letter you get) and you would have the option to choose which other participants you would like to be in a team with ? You should also get a notification about it when someone wants to be in a team with you and have the option to to choose to not want to be in a team with another player, once the tournament starts the game would just create the teams based upon these settings as far as possibly and then assign the rest randomly.
Would, btw, also be interesting if this option could be turned off for a tournament if the creator chooses to do so, so everybody will have to play with random team-mates.
This is a great suggestion. I'm setting up a number of tournaments these days, but when I want to participate as a team with my favorite teammates, I have to "request" in chat that people leave my team alone until my friends join it. I suppose Fizzer doesn't want to implement this feature, because it would take away some of the value of the Team Ladders, which are only available to members.
I'd like a clan or guild system. Maybe it has been mentioned somewhere else. I want to found a Queer Guild! ^^
One way to make this work without a persistent team entity (which would be cool too) would be to allow the first player on a team to forward invites for the other seats on the team from their own invite list.
