More win conditions / Game mode than just domination.
Hey Warzone players and team!
First off all, I know there's mods that add lose conditions, but I'll be talking about win objectives.
I've noticed that in group play an eerie problem keeps peeping around the corner. When a couple of veteran Risk players play against each other, a domination like game tends to end in a stalemate until someone is bored. This doesn't happen too often in 1v1's, but with more than 3 players people tend to just turtle in, only occasionally pushing a save attack or 2.
What I'm suggesting is having a game mode where every player get's a goal from a random pool, kinda like the original game. You're told to hold a certain group of regions/bonuses for x amount of turns. This adds a ton of depth for the following reasons:
People will start moving around the map more, especially in the beginning.
You're able to start predicting what the win condition of your opponent is.
Holding a location will be of more value because it could be the win of another player.
Turtling won't be as beneficial because your opponents can be fighting over a win condition, and if you're not working toward yours, they may get it before you. (Yes, this is the case with any game really, but a game that theoretically has infinite turns really favors just getting a strong eco and then just waiting for dozens of turns, which is kind of anticlimactic)
This could be further experimented with, like always having some win conditions overlap certain regions.
Wonder what other people are thinking and I couldn't find any suggestion that addressed this issue so here it is!
