Alternative 'View older chat' button.

Some games, mostly diplomacy games, have a lot of chat and sometimes it can lag or even crash the computer if you try to load older chat.
I have come up with a simple solution;
Another button would be placed near the 'view older chat' button in the public chat and be labelled 'chat for past week' or 'last 100 messages' or something else.
This button will allow players to see the latest messages instead of the entire chat.

    Yes. On PC it usually loads, but mobile sometimes it doesn't load at all and crashes the game. I really like this idea.

    This is a great idea. Especially when someone laughs at something someone said earlier and you can't remember what it was.

    I would have it be the last 50 or last 100 messages.
