My solution below isn't all inclusive. It wouldn't allow for something like "Completed Games and Games where it is my turn And games with unread chat messages" but I think it would allow for the vast majority of filters people actually want to use. Thoughts?

Hmm... I see what you mean, and the level of complexity rises a lot the more flexibility you want to be able to offer.

Randy, would this work as a potential solution?

Display a drop down list as you currently have, with options as follows:

    1. All Games
    2. Active Games
    3. Active Games And my state is playing
    4. Games where I am not eliminated
    5. Games where it is my turn.
    6. Only games that show up from my chat filters (or something that allows for the current #5 option to still be an option).

In other words, have the drop down list only affect the kind of filters people want to see in terms of the game itself and have no bearing on chat options.

And then have 2 checkboxes representing chat options.

    1. And games where I have unread chat messages.
    2. Or games where I have unread chat messages.

If the person doesn't want to see games with chat messages at all, they can simply not select either chat box.
