Save single player games
This would allow you to save the progress of a single player game and resume it later.
This would be done as an auto-save after each turn. This is important since you don't want players to be able to load previous saves and try something new, as that would ruin the integrity of existing wins (i.e. you could change your orders based on what the AI did, or based on what you discovered behind the fog)

I’m pleased to announce that single-player games can now be saved and resumed!

I just want it to persist like a multiplayer game.

I think a save button would be a great addition to the game. I like playing certain single player senarios but sometimes you dont have time to finish them . It would be nice to resume your game at a later date.
thanks

I think most people would only go to that much effort if there was an incentive to win the insane challenge.

Would surrendering remove the autosave? I could see a potential exploit with the following: Autosave at a certain point, then surrender in a game to see where the AI is at that point in time, then recreating that exact setup in a single player mode and seeing exactly how they act. Then you can go back to the original game and move perfectly according to how you know the AI is going to act, and then after it autosaves again, you can rinse and repeat. It would be a long process, but I can see it removing the skill/guesswork from beating the challenges.

I agree this should be done as an autosave to prevent exploitation. I updated the text to reflect that.
However, I don't think preserving a random seed would work, since you could still discover what the AI did and change your orders accordingly. Or just explore through the fog, then go back and make different decisions.

This would be a really nice feature. I agree that it should be an autosave, or at least preserve the random seed so that it cannot be exploited.

I don't like the idea of being able to restart from the same save multiple times, because it trivializes the challenge. Rather than being an actual accomplishment, it would turn them into something that is rather easy to do. However, I think it's a good idea to have single player games auto-save, such that you can resume them later, but if you advance a turn, you can never go back and the game will auto-save itself at your current spot.

doushibag, its not saying you can play the game from the same point multiple times, its saying you can stop a game in the middle and resume it later. unlike multiplayer games, when you leave the game you can never come back

I don't like that idea, being able to play the same Single Player level from the same point multiple times. Gives you control over luck and the randomness of the AI which you shouldn't have control over. I wouldn't mind that option for a standard single player game though.

I'd also like to be able to save more than one game. So if I finally get a good start on Insane challenge i can save and then keep replaying from that point without having to restart, and still have the option of saving at some later point in the game because I want to play my turn in a multiplayer game without opening a new browser window.

If I had more votes to cast, I'd vote for this :)
