    Ajax requests are still initiated by the client – using Ajax doesn’t really help the situation as the client still needs to poll occasionally.

    There are mechanisms that could solve this problem, but ajax is not one of them. Things like websockets or comet connections can push to the client, or just increasing the poll frequency can make it look like it’s not doing a timed refresh.

  2. Friends list that shows who is online, offline, idle

    Simply a buddy list so people can send instant messages, invites, and data through warlight.

  3. Diplomatic Option on FFA, not cad for turn but to have

    Diplomatic Option: What i mean ? On FFA or 1 vs1 vs 1 etc game( not diplomatic card for 1 turn) , or teamfight it should be option that you can choice your teammate in game not only before start or randomf

  4. If someone gets booted in a game, the victory or loss doesn't show up on everyone else's stats

    People often boot to keep a game going. Some do it to assure victory and up their stats. Make it so that if someone gets booted, everyone else's stats don't count the win or loss from that game, and you solve the booting problem! People looking to get the game moving along still have fun, and people who just want their stats raised will not have the game count

    The problem with this is that it makes getting booted advantageous. In other words, if you want to deny your opponent an win, all you have to do is stop playing when you’re down to one territory.

    Like how many time a player attacks each turn, the size of his armies, the number of territories he control etc...

  6. Infiltrate card

    could be used in team games, Infiltrate card would allow you to see your opponents team chat for one turn. as in reality country's send spy's to find enemy plans and use it to gain advantage.

    It’s a good idea, but unfortunately I think all this would do is cause players to stop using the team chat and start communicating outside of the game. For example, they’d exchange e-mail addresses in the game and use that to strategize.

  8. Team treaties

    This option will allow player to sign team treaties to form a team. Tean treaties can either be set for a certain amount of turns or be broken with or without notice.

    A team treaty will be sign if all concerned players acquiesce. Team treaties are always public and the size of the future(s) team(s) can only be maximun one more player than the smallest team.

    Setting can authorize victory as a team or not. If victory as a team is set to be impossible, team will be broken if all alive player are in the same team.

  9. Unsavory Players Names

    Have just come across a player calling himself ImF***ingDave, also another a few weeks back was calling himself 'Hitler'. May I suggest these players are encouraged to adopt more suitable names. Not much point in having a profanity policy if players call themselves by profane names :)

    I’m not sure what you mean exactly.

    If you mean you want a limit on what boot timers are settable at game creation, that’s already in place – the limit is 100 days maximum.

    If you mean you want to limit who can joiin open seats in games you create based on how often they get booted, you can already do this too by looking at the Open Seat Prerequisite tab.

    A “boot limit” could also mean you want to limit how many people get booted from each game? I’m really just speculating here, this doesn’t make much logical sense.

    Based on my conjecture, I think you can understand why you need to be more specific when describing feature requests.

  12. Quick link to show territory picking stage

    I often find myself hitting the history button and rewinding to the start to see where wastelands are, especially in ladder 1v1's. It would be nice if there was a quick way of overlaying the turn 0 state of the map for quick reference.

  13. Random Team Tournaments

    The ability to create tournaments, in which players join knowing they'll receive a partner randomly from the other players at tournament start. Please vote ^_^

  14. Confirmation dialog when moving on teammate

    The little checkbox to confirm you want to take a territory is always forgotten. Is it possible to have a dialog that pops up to confirm whether you want to attack or transfer. Along with a dismiss on future turns for those who dislike.

    WarLight already has a dialog exactly as you described. Since you don’t know about it, I imagine you accidentally turned it off? You can turn it back on via the Settings tab.

  15. "Surrender to accept" message on My games page

    Pretty much as we can see we have chat messages on My Page, it would be good to know one player wants to surrender so that we can accept (since many players surrender but do not play and then it holds the game).

    I think especially about players who play many games at a time and do not check why one game is held for a while (when there is no autoboot, like in autogames templates).
    With the notification on their My Game page, they would know they need to take action.

  16. Blacklist Highlighting

    when you look at or join a game it should highlight people who are in your blacklist maybe having a popup - then you can make the decision to play in that game or not - you cant always remember who is in your blacklist if there are a lot of people

  17. Infrastructure of design maps more adapted

    Unfortunately, the design of maps is not comprehensive nor sophisticated. There are not detailed errors such as the map that I was testing had the following error "map is corrupt." Moreover, the compatibility of file types is svg. There should be other file types, because there are few programs and not very developed for this type of file. It is very easy to make a map in Rise of Nations, because the system is very simple, unlike this.

    If you ever get a message saying the map is corrupt that may be a bug – please send me an e-mail at fizzer@warlight.net. This forum isn’t used for bug reports.

    If you want to vote on supporting filetypes other than SVG, please create an item that specifically says “Support creating maps via XXX files” where XXX is the method you’d like to see supported. This headline isn’t very descriptive.

  18. It's about lowering the amount of emails in multi-day games.

    This setting would let you decide how long it will take for Warlight to send you the reminder emails. i.e.: 1 minute/5 minutes/6 hours/1 day etc... So you don't have to delete a large amount of emails, when you know you won't be back for a while.

  19. Hand over territories to team mates..

    When playing a team game, have the ability to 'hand over' a territory/country to a team mate.

    If you and a team mate are both sitting in a region, in takes time and armies to 'attack' your team mate in order for one of you to complete the region and get the bonuses. It is a needless waste of resources (Armies) and takes up turns when you or a team mate might need these bonuses.

    Also, maybe the ability to submit a whole 'region' to a team mate. During a team game, if they are almost out of the game,…

  20. Support for creating maps to PNG, BMP and/or JPG files

    The process for creating maps in the game should be further developed. It only supports SVG images. If it supports PNG, BMP or JPG that images are examples of simple , the creation system would be much easier and more practical. So there will be a reasonable increase in the amount of custom maps, making the game more varied and more options.

    The reason SVG files are used is because it allows WarLight to know where one territory begins and another ends (for things like click detection, coloring, etc.) The formats you listed don’t support this.
