Randomized Wastelands (a simple change, and partial multi-attack solution)
I've found that having fairly common wastelands (at 10-30 armies each) is a great solution for multi-attack problems: it makes multi-attacking into unknown territory scary, something you only do if you're desperate or have scouted there previously. This adds a really cool strategic layer to multi-attack games.
However, there is no way to do this, because wastelands appear on the map in the "first" screen, when choosing territories.
The suggested change is: make it possible for wastelands to be distributed AFTER territories are chosen, so that the players don't know where they are. You choose your starting positions, they are distributed, and then Wastelands are randomly chosen from the remaining neutrals.
This makes it harder to plan ahead but more dynamic, and solves a lot of problems (that some people have) with multi-attack games. It should also be a very easy change to implement, I think, as opposed to other more complicated solutions I have seen.
This idea can now be implemented using the new mod framework! As such, I’m closing this idea, as new ideas that can be implemented as mods should be created as mods first. See https://www.warzone.com/wiki/Feedback for details.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I think this is an excellent idea, I've thought of it myself before and would love to see it implemented.

use auto-distribution instead ;)
(i know it s not a perfect solution, but my votes are in more important requests :P ) -

As an option yes

This seems like it could work, but it would be unfair if a player chooses a bonus, and then a wasteland spawns in it. Maybe wastelands couldn't spawn in a bonus with a player in it?

Interesting idea would add a new dynamic to the game. but would make the game a lot more luck based.
