Add a "friends list" subset to the invite list
After playing many games here, the invite list gets cumbersome. It would be nice to have a smaller list for people I really enjoyed playing with.

We’re definitely looking at ways of managing your friends list better,
Thanks for the suggestion.

I'd like to expand on this idea. Instead of a friends list, the ability to create an arbitrary number of named *folders* of users would be extremely useful. I might have one for my Friday night real time crew, one for those I meet up and play WarLight with IRL, etc. I see this as an extension of this idea, but if it is better suited as a separate feature I'd be glad to make it, I just haven't been on UserVoice in forever.

I'm glad that Mr. Fizzer and the staff are looking at finally making this a reality. :)

This is 3 years old, but BADLY needed. Especially with clans now official. Every time I send mail to clan mates, I have to scroll through my entire list and find each one. Even for a clan of 9, this is a pain. I cannot imagine for a larger clan.

Maybe different groups of friends?

guys, just set friendship to manual and delete your spare friends. You can already do this

For clans and the like a controlled subset might be interesting, aka the leader of the clan makes the subset and the others just use it.
One problem i see with this is that if you have a bad leader he might remove/add players without consent or even informing the rest of the clan.
(someone in a clan could possibly shed some light on how clans do this now, but i suspect the problem would be biggest for new/non-established clans) -

We definitely need subsets of the invite lists. This would be VERY handy for clans (you could have a clan subset). Many other uses as well.

agreed, whatever kind of subset you want in your invite-list you shouldn't matter as long as you can make this subset yourself.

lol, looks like you haven't removed the "automatically add to invite list" feature, switch that off and you'll only get people that you add manually to your list. you can delete your invite list by going on settings, after that its self explanatory (in other words i can't remember but its easy) :)

I've been thinking about this.... and Imho all you need to implement would be sub-groups to the invite list... you could make a subgroup for friends, a sub-group for people that break truces, for trolls, for people you rp with, for your clan, w/e..

Its a subset of player groups
So there sould be groups. One player can be in multiple groups. -

What I would like would be a possibility to friend another player, preferably requiring both players to agree to friend each other, and then share some basic information such as e-mail adresses and possibly some kind of online notification.

Or mark players which are in invite list like players blacklisted are marked

I agree. The invite list is currently pretty useless, an doesn't seem to be editable. I would like to see only friends (who i could tag as such in game) and perhaps recent player s(last week?)
