    Thanks for the suggestion. Instead of doing a simple name change as previously announced, we’ve now announced Warzone as a sequel to WarLight. “Warzone (WarLight 2)” still has WarLight in the title!

  3. Diplomacy Game Mode

    This idea has been posted and veto-ed before but I think it is quite distinct from the popular "peace treaties" idea and deserves another chance. I have personally participated in a handful of diplomacy-style games and I think they would benefit greatly from having an actual game mode to accommodate them and force people to play by the rules. It's a great addition to Warlight that sets it apart from other Risk-type games and I would love to see it nurtured.

  5. Allow 41 to 50 player games

    It's a known fact that there was once a 50-man FFA event held by Fizzer himself, so the code is there; implementing such a feature, even if under some nasty requisites (membership, or a high level like 57~60) would be very easy and quick. Assuming the code wasn't changed much, it's all about making it publicly avaiable.

    This would be great for large Free-For-All games; as chaotic as 40-man games are, an extra 20% players will make it even more fun! Specially on huge maps like Hex Earth.

    The buttons are large for mobile users, since small buttons are hard to hit with a touchscreen + fat fingers. While it would be possible to size them dynamically based on whether the client is a mobile device or not, I don’t see that as too beneficial to be honest. But thanks for the suggestion anyway!

  8. Disable Main Chat Option

    While the main chat has its benefits, it has it's drawbacks. Some players choose to verbally attack other players. Others choose to share information other players may not want shared. Players may also forge alliances in games that have been strictly labeled Free For All (FFA), defeating the main reason private chat is usually disabled.

    An option to disable the main chat in creating a game could work to solve these problems, reducing unwanted chatter in games, if a player desired.

  10. Combining fixed wastelands with random wastelands

    I would like to ask you if there could be an option (somewhere in the future maybe) to be able to have fixed wastelands and random wastelands in a same game while still having the possibility to pick territories. It would be useful to create good strategical templates having some OP territories blocked by a fixed wasteland while still being able to have random wastelands elsewhere and being able to pick.

  11. Privatize Tournoment teams.

    To avoid having someone join your team that you have not expressly invited, allow teams to be private... open to only who the team Captain allows ( Capt. being the first person to take any given team assignment ) . Also, let the captain boot AND replace members that have been inactive for X period of time. Too many tournaments are ruined by these players that join and quit!! AI replacement is better than nothing, but worse is when they are booted and we have a lopsided game. Also, the sheer time the player wastes the othe 500 people actually…

  12. Implement Risk 2210 AD (Invade Earth)

    I would love to play the 2210 AD version. With the introduction of the commander I remembered that Risk 2210 AD is a lot of fun and adds a lot more strategies to the game. There is nowhere to play it online right now.

    There is this version but it requires a download and the UI is clunky, not really polished, and unforgivable if you misclick (you can't undo)

  13. Aerial/Naval Invasion Card

    This card will let the user able to invade any territory in a map. Of course this will change mechanics but it make the game much more realistic. Maybe you can make it take multiple turns depending on the distance. By finding the length of the Arrow, when one is attacking, and dividing by a certain degree this will be used to determine the number of turn it will take for one to invade. And EVERYBODY must be notified when one is using this card because it is not a stealth card.

    I'm pretty sure the Airlift Card can be…

  14. Auto-boot after 30 days of inactivity

    Warlight should have a system-wide auto-boot of anybody who has been inactive in a game for 30 days. This should not be discretionary based on the desires of the game / tournament creator (which is why this isn't a dupe of the existing auto boot idea).

    Situations this would resolve:
    -Game with boot = NEVER and a player quits warlight.
    -Game with direct boot = NEVER, vote to boot = X days, but 2+ people quit warlight
    -Game with any boot settings, but only 2 players both of whom have quit warlight (this would be most common in the bottom…

    Let’s break this idea into its parts and discuss each one:

    Part 1: Add an auto-boot feature.
    Part 2: Enforce that all games have a 30 day auto-boot.
    Part 3: Allow players to vote to suspend the auto boot.

    I don’t agree that Part 2, enforcing everyone use it, is a good idea. People play WarLight in many different ways – in fact, most people just play with their friends and never join the general community. It doesn’t make sense to impose rules like this onto everyone, since it just doesn’t fit everyone. Even if they can vote to suspend, there will be tons of people that don’t know about the auto-boot and don’t know they have to vote to suspend it. This is a better feature to leave off by default rather than on by default, since it would cause accidents for new users.

  16. Another way of earning cards

    Right now you earn a piece of card every turn you take control of ANY territory. I would like to propose two additional/alternative ways of gaining cards:
    1.You have to hold certain (randomely chosen similar to wastelands) territory/bonus to earn a piece of card every turn
    2.You get a whole card when you conquer certain territory/bonus.
    I imagine that this could give an extra level of tactic in game : is it more important to me to capture this bonus with 6 armies/turn or the only territory in game which gives card pieces?

  17. Capital setting

    You should add a capital setting as option map creators can choose. This setting can either apply to normal or diplomacy games.

    Possible features related (creators could choose some of them):

    1. Base income comes from the capital, if you lose it, your base income goes to zero.

    2. Losing your capital makes you lose the game.

    3. Change the location of your capital card

    4. Deployment limited to areas connected to your capital. That's probably the better feature this capital could provide, because:

    a) That's perfect to prevent attacks with a huge stacks in order to break ennemy bonuses regardless to the protection…

    Thanks for the suggestion. However, capitals are so similar to commanders, it will probably never happen. It wouldn’t make sense to have two concepts in the game that are nearly identical.

  18. Keyboard Shortcuts for Custom Scenarios

    When making custom scenarios, the drop down box can take a very long time.

    A solution to this would be to be able to assign the slot of the selected territory or bonus by pressing the corresponding key on the keyboard.

    The drop down bar can be used for anything after Z, when it becomes double letters.

    This will allow much faster scenario creation and therefore less time creating and more time playing. :)

  19. Neutral territory armies increase by set option.

    I would like to see an option to have the amount of neutral armies increase by X per X turns. And/or X by X player controlled territories.

    For example at the beginning the neutrals have 2 armies. I have set the option to add 1 army to each neutral every 10 turns. So any neutrals will have 3 armies at turn 10 then 4 at turn 20. This could make the Neutrals be more of a challenge as the players increase income and/or size.

  20. Bombardment card

    A card like sanctions but instead reduce a player income, reduce a bonus to 0 armies per turn or the half or any value(in %) and also you cant attack to/attack from any territory of that bonus
